Making sure the alarm always rings
- Grant the alarm permission when the app asks — without it, nothing can ring.
- Allow notifications and camera access (iPhone Settings → Pushup Alarm).
- The alarm rings even if the app is closed or your phone is on silent — it's delivered by iOS itself.
- Keep your volume up.
Can I snooze?
No — that's the point. Dismissing the alarm from the lock screen only quiets it for about a minute, and your pushups are still owed when you open the app. If you're genuinely unable to finish, an emergency exit appears on the challenge screen after a short delay. Using it turns off the alarm but breaks your streak.
How pushup counting works
Prop your phone anywhere it can see you — side-on or head-on — and turn on a light. The camera tracks your body's actual pushup motion: locked-out arms at the top, a real bend at the bottom, and your whole body genuinely descending. Half-reps and arm-waving don't count. Everything is processed on your device; nothing is recorded or uploaded.
Sounds, difficulty, and reps
